Fleet Logistics was involved in the new virtual Global Fleet Conference as the host of a workshop earlier this month and as one of the sponsors of the event.

The annual Global Fleet Conference brings together global and international fleet professionals and industry experts from all over the world to discuss global fleet and mobility trends.

And despite the COVID-19 pandemic, it did so again  this year – in a new virtual format, starting in early June to early July, under the title: “Preparing for the New Normal”.

Fleet Logistics ran a virtual workshop entitled “Help, I’m going global” on Wednesday June 17: Speakers were as follows:

  • Thibault Alleyn, Global Fleet & Mobility Advisory, Fleet Logistics
  • Michelle Clarke, Group Director of International Implementations & Audit, Fleet Logistics
  • Yves Helven, Expert, Global Fleet
  • Jarno Pajunen, Global Category Manager, Nokia

The workshop looked at the issue of “How should you manage a global fleet in full transparency?”

The first part of the  workshop entitled ”Best Practice: Seven Steps of Fleet Globalisation” was presented by Jarno Pajunen from Nokia.

He was followed by Thibault Alleyn and Michelle Clarke who tackled these four key topics:

  1. What are the limits of globalisation?
  2. How do you deal with a global scope inside of the company?
  3. Data collection
  4. Policy and budget

Globalisation has been on the agenda of regional and global fleet managers for a while now, but it remains a challenge, especially as Asian and Latin American fleets need to be integrated. The workshop tackled globalisation from different angles: policy, data, stakeholder management and supply chain.
