The British Government needs to supercharge its electric vehicle strategy if it is to have any chance of meeting its new ‘net zero’ emissions by 2050 pledge, according to new analysis from the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association.

Experts at the European New Car Assessment Program, Euro NCAP, the vehicle safety testing specialists, have given the Tesla Model 3 electric car their highest ever rating for safety assist in a perfect five star performance in its latest crash test ratings.

European OEMs are expecting the internal combustion engine to play a majority role in their powertrain portfolios for the next 20-30 years. That much became apparent from several reports that underlined that fossil fuels will still have a key part to play in the future.

Company cars are still the preferred method of travel by the majority of companies that operate fleets, according to the latest Mobility Observatory study by international leasing company, Arval, despite growing interest in different mobility solutions.
